Naked Tonics

Naked Tonics grew out of my deeper exploration into health and wellness. I had already been learning about the food industry, agriculture, and how marketing shapes the American diet, but this journey led me back to the basics: discovering herbal tonics and natural remedies that support the body’s immune system. It began with experimenting on my own elderberry syrup recipe and eventually expanded into CBD lotions, seamoss gel, and other food-as-medicine creations that caught my interest.

As a graphic designer who loves packaging design, experimenting with the packaging concept and labels along with a social media presence was a large part of the fun for me. I learned a great deal on the importance of packaging in consumer goods in my first full-time design role as a packaging designer and was excited to bring that into this passion project. Seeing how well certain packaging sold on shelves and in small businesses helped me better understand consumer behavior.

When I moved into a marketing position in a wellness clinic, I then also white labeled my CBD products for the practice. While I never actively marketed or promoted my products, they sold well enough that people & clinics still reach out years later. This experience really helped shape the way I see how design and consumer behavior come together, but I would say the biggest reward has come from the feedback I’ve received in helping others. For that reason, I choose to donate most of what I make when I have the bandwidth and when someone reaches out to me.
