The Endometriosis Summit

The Endometriosis Summit is redefining education and advocacy in endometriosis care—bringing patients, surgeons, physical therapists, and researchers together to elevate standards, accelerate understanding, and ensure no one navigates this disease alone.

My contributions span a wide range of creative disciplines, including photography, logo design, holding slides, stage and background graphics, web skins, animations, and custom Instagram and Facebook filters, among other assets.

Event Collaboration

2019-2025

The Endometriosis Summit is a volunteer-driven initiative. In my role, I work closely with co-founder Sallie Sarrel to bring her creative vision to life, often blending clean design with a touch of playful quirkiness to reflect the spirit of the event.

Most of my volunteer contributions occurred between 2019 and 2020, during which I supported a wide range of design needs. In recent years, my involvement has scaled down due to bandwidth, now focusing primarily on logo design and visual identity updates, guided by Sallie’s creative direction.

Logos

The logo process for The Endometriosis Summit was truly an evolution. While I did not create the original logo, I was initially tasked with rebuilding it. I restructured the layout, matched the existing typography, and added a border to accommodate new taglines. I also introduced the NYC skyline as a placeholder since the event was being held in the metro area, an element the client immediately loved and chose to keep.

From there, the direction continued to evolve. The client requested updated illustrations that reflected the location and annual theme, along with very specific stylistic preferences. She wanted the imagery to feel friendly and quirky, and she also asked for the bee motif to appear throughout the designs as a symbol of resilience and a personal tribute to a family member who supported the cause.

Stage Backdrop

For the 2020 annual event, I designed, engineered, and hand-built a custom stage backdrop inspired by the symbolic yellow of endometriosis awareness. Created as part of my volunteer work, the installation blended clean design with organic, floral elements to reflect both resilience and community.

Constructed entirely by hand in my backyard, the backdrop was made using plywood, florals, spray paint, plexiglass, PVC board, and floor paneling. This was one of the most ambitious builds I’ve taken on as an immersive, large-scale piece that brought the event’s message and visual identity to life.

Digital Signage

From 2019 to 2020, I created a range of digital signage for event presentations and on-screen displays. My work included designing holding slides and vertical branded elements that supported both in-person and virtual programming. Each piece was crafted to enhance clarity, reinforce the event’s identity, and create a cohesive visual experience across all digital touchpoints.

Virtual Events

During the COVID lockdown, I supported multiple virtual events by creating web skins, logos, and digital assets that transformed live experiences into engaging online formats. For both the virtual Endometriosis Summit and its Reproductive Immunology offshoot, I designed the event logos and web skins to align with the broader brand while giving each conference its own distinct visual identity. I also created the logo and a custom social media filter for a virtual 5K supporting the endometriosis community, helping participants feel connected and part of a shared movement—even while walking from home.

Animation

The client requested an animated introduction for the keynote panel of their virtual summit, featuring playful superhero illustrations of the participating physicians. To bring this concept to life, I superimposed each doctor’s face onto hero artwork and animated the sequence in After Effects, complete with music and dynamic motion graphics. The result was a fun, energetic opener that celebrated the panelists and set an engaging tone for the discussion and a learning process for me as I was previously unfamiliar with After Effects.
